Jane (Nedderman) Peterson

SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON- Jane (Nedderman) Peterson passed away Nov. 28, 2016 at home after a short bout with Small Cell Carcinoma.

Mom was born on Feb. 15, 1939, middle child of Howard and Evelyn (Woods) Nedderman. Mom graduated with the Madison East High class of 1957, where she was a cheerleader. In 8th grade, which back in the day was also at East High, Mom met a group of friends she is still close with to this day. This group of ladies celebrated their 40th, 50th, 60th, and 70th birthdays with different trips. The 40th birthday trip was to New York- I don't think any of them had ever been outside of Wisconsin until that trip. This same group celebrated Mother's Day with all their mother's since 1976. Their Mothers have since passed although the group is still strong, getting together the Saturday before Mother's day.

Mom has made many great and lasting friendships in her pursuit of staying active. These groups have become a testament to Mom's spirit of friendship and love of people. She has her Pickle Ball group - meeting at the court at 7:30 a.m. to hit that pickle ball. She has her Zumba group – which expanded to road trips for lunches at different restaurants. She has her beloved dance groups from Virginia Davis School of Dance – The Darlings – this group of ladies participated in the dance recitals held every year in May even though they were all so nervous about getting up in front of the huge audience. Mom still has plywood under her bed to practice the tap numbers!! Mom loved to play cards. She has her once a month Saturday Rummy Royal group, her Hand & Foot group and her Euchre games. She also learned to play Mah-Jongg and played regularly on Sunday mornings.

Mom loved her trips to the North Woods to visit her sister, Gale. Mom and Elaine would hop in the car and road trip to Boulder Junction to go kayaking and stand up boarding, enjoying the walks and talks!! Mom loved to teach people how to make the Jelly Roll pillow cases. She also participated in crafts over the years - although she did like the crafts you could start and finish in a day.

Mom will be greatly missed by me, Cheri Belz (Dan Ripp), her granddaughter Jennifer Belz and grandson Ryan Belz along with her sisters Gale (John) Werth and Joyce (Duane) Klute, along with many close and dear friends and other relatives. Mom has gone to join her son, Mike Peterson (1978) and her parents.

We would like to thank: Agrace Hospice Care, Bright Star Care and all the friends and relatives for the cards and calls. There will be an informal gathering to celebrate Jane at LIBERTY SQUARE SENIOR APPARTMENTS, at 1020 Liberty Square Blvd. Sun Prairie, WI at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 1, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace Hospice 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg.

Mom, I will miss our daily 5 p.m. after work phone calls, Fireside plays and good talks. You have been a great inspiration to me and are leaving me with a great support group. Love you always.
