Jane Nate

Jane Nate, age 91 of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formerly of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station with Father Valentine Joseph celebrating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and then proceed to the church.

Jane was born July 16, 1922 on the family farm in Seven Mile Creek Township, Juneau County, Wisconsin the daughter of Michael and Alice (Dixon) Taylor. She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Lyndon Station, the Walsh School and graduated as the senior class president of Mauston High School. She started working at the bank in Lyndon Station at the age of 18, later attended UW-Madison and the Groves Barnhardt School in Madison. In February of 1944 she married Eugene Nate at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They lived in Lyndon Station and Jane returned to work at the bank where she eventually became manager and retired after 30 years. She enjoyed her work, always had a smile on her face and was dearly beloved by many. Jane volunteered with the American Red Cross, was a member of the Ladies Altar Sodality and Sevenweir Homemakers and served on the Board of Directors at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Janet (William) Wolberg of Belleville, Wisconsin and Michelle Nate of Milwaukee; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; sisters, Mary Clare McMahon, Gertrude Scully and Therese Costigan; an infant brother, Richard and great grandson, Matthew Leidenix.
