Jack Eberhardt, age 92, passed away peacefully due to complications of pneumonia, on Saturday , March 15, 2014 at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. He was born on September 7, 1921 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Arthur R. and Evelyn Eberhardt. Jack Was united in marriage to Sara Albertus on November 11, 1943. Six months after their wedding, Jack was drafted into the Army and served in WWII.
Jack enjoyed woodworking, his time at the cabin he built, his motorhome and the many family camping trips. In his later years, Jack enjoyed Thursday afternoons with his fellow WWII veterans at Wollersheim Winery. Jack was Lawrence Welk's number 1 fan on Saturday evenings. He so enjoyed the company of his family, was a friend, a devoted father and loving husband.
He is survived by his wife, Sara; a son, David Eberhardt; daughters, Pat Mings and Pam (David) Dickson; a brother, Mark (Rose) Eberhardt; 2 sisters, Carol (Roman) Frey, Hazel Anlauf ; 4 grandchildren, Jamie (Nate) Nehring, Tracy Dickson, Aaron (Kelli) Eberhardt and Kyle (Kathy) Eberhardt; Three great grandchildren, Sara, Kenna, and Jack.
The family would like to thank Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital's ICU for their great care an kindness shown during this difficult time.
A funeral service will be held at Concordia United Methodist Church, Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014, with Pastor Doris Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie du Sac cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Badger Honor Flight, Inc., P.O. Box 258066, Madison, WI 53725.
