MADISON-Inge Clara Heinz, age 74, of Madison, peacefully passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 7, 1939, in Vechta, Germany, the daughter of Dominikun and Bernice (Bereker) Schroeder. Inge became a U.S. citizen in 1954. She married Keith Heinz on April 29, 1983. Inge was a member of Beta Zeta in Madison. Inge’s career included working as an LPN before she married and had children, and later she worked many years at both Ohmeda Corporation and Shopko until her retirement. Among her many interests, Inge enjoyed knitting and donating baby caps for the newborns at Meriter Hospital, and Stampin’ Up card making with her daughter, Teri, daughter-in-law, Gretchen, and granddaughter, Shannon.
Inge is survived by her husband, Keith; children, Teri (Mike) Klawitter and John (Gretchen) Emmerich; grandchildren, Shannon Schrank, Brian (Stephanie) Geier and Megan (Mike) Sandridge; brother, Heinz Schroeder; and sister, Gisela Theo. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Peggy Geier; grandson, Zachary Geier; and her first husband, Jim Emmerich.
Our dear Inge will always be lovingly remembered as “a freshly uncorked bottle of champagne”. Her innate charm radiated to all- for she never met a stranger. She was the BEST mom, grandma, mother-in-law and friend and will truly be missed by us all. Inge delighted in all animals, but there was a special place in her heart for her dog Toby and her “grandpuppies” Rosie and Stinker.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at noon on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, with Chaplain Guta Cvetkovik presiding. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, Oct. 7th, 2013. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Capitol Lakes for the many years of great care they gave Inge.
