Henry W. Kusrow, age 97, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013 with his family at his side.

He was born on March 19, 1916 to Henry Sr. and Lillie (Bradley) Kusrow in South Leeds Wisconsin. As a child, he delivered newspapers to the last fire station to use horses to pull their water wagons. He cherished the relationships with his siblings, bonds that he carried throughout his life. He married Irene Selje on June 1, 1936 and together they raised two daughters, Jane and Mary, on the family farm near Rio. Before his life as a farmer and trucker, he worked as a taxi cab driver in Milwaukee during the battle to unionize the taxi industry; a story he loved to share. After Irene passed away in 1981, he later married Louise Horge in 1984. He was a member of Spring Prairie, Bonnet Prairie, Rio Redeemer Lutheran Church, and Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene; his siblings Emma Huisman, Raymond Kusrow, Helen Kusrow, and Dorothy Braund; and step-son Roger Horge.

He is survived by his sister Florence “Holly” Sell; wife Louise Horge; his children, Jane (Dave) Roberts, and Mary (Ron) Roberts, and step-daughter Sharen McCormick; his grandchildren Darci (Chris) Moon, Ann (Joe) Bennett, Traci (Jamie) Roberts, Jay (Amy) Roberts; step-grandchildren David, Kristofer, and Jason and their families; great-grandchildren Ryan, Alex, Kjerstin, Kai, Nicholas, Joshua, Elle, and Cade. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff at Waunakee Manor, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Dean Clinic.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee Street, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at Church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to charitable causes that Henry supported.
