LAKE GENEVA –Helen Lucille (Vanderbloemen) King, age 92, of Lake Geneva , passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, in Elkhorn, Wis.
She was born on Sept. 5, 1921, in Stoughton, the daughter of Anton and Serina (Hillestad)Vanderbloemen. Helen married Lewis Edwin King on Aug. 18, 1965, in Las Vegas, Nev. Helen graduated from Madison Central High in 1941. She worked for many years at Kroger’s and Consumer Pharmacy in Madison. Helen enjoyed game night with friends and afternoon rolls through the Lake Geneva area. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Her passion was spending time with her family and great-grandson, Ashur.
Helen is survived by her son, Dennis (Sharon) Vanderbloemen; granddaughter’s, Jenny (Mike) Vanderbloemen and Kelly Larson; great-grandson, Ashur Larson; sister, Marcella Kennedy; brother, George (Billy) Vanderbloemen; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian Vanderbloemen and Anna Mae O’Brien; and brothers, Richard and John Vanderbloemen.
Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona, at Noon, on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb.16, 2014, and also from 11:30 a.m. until time of the service on Monday.
