Helen L. Korb, age 76 of Prairie du Sac passed away peacefully at Maplewood nursing home on Monday, June 12, 2017. She was born on July 29, 1940 in Boscobel, WI to the late Otto and Edith (Ferris) Wolf.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Korb in 1968. They settled in Prairie du Sac where they lived for 47 years. When the girls were in grade school, she became involved with the Sauk Prairie Historical Society. On weekends when the area museums were open you could find Helen and her girls volunteering their time.
She also enjoyed caring for several children over the years while working as a homemaker. She was a friend to everyone she met. When she was younger you could find her riding her bike all over town.
She is survived by her two daughters – Penny (Michael) Pape and Peggy (Craig) Herling. Four grandchildren – Preston and Garrett Pape and Hunter and Ella Herling. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Korb, her sister Shirley Wayne and brother in law Bernard Wayne.
The family would like to thank Maplewood nursing home for the care given to Helen this past year. Thank you also, to all of her amazing neighbors who helped her out when needed and to all of the volunteers who delivered her daily lunches while she was at home.
A visitation will be held at the First United Church of Christ in Sauk City on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm with a dinner to follow.
