Harry Winter, age 66, of Dane died suddenly on Wed., Nov. 20, 2013 at his home. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Harold and Grace (Hohmann) Winter. Harry served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967 and was proud of his service.
He married Connie Taylor and they resided in the Dane area. He was employed as the fleet manager for the City of Middleton until his retirement in 2008. He worked for many years building and maintaining the police cars and the ambulance for the city of Middleton. His favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting, and watching Badger and Packers football. He was also known for both owning and driving fast cars.
Survivors include his wife Connie; two daughters, Jennifer (Tony Russo) Winter and Sarah (Rigg) Heyer; three grandchildren, Mallory, Aubrey and Natalie Heyer; and two brothers, Dave and Jeff. Other survivors include his mother-in-law Donna Taylor and brothers and sisters-in-laws, Sharon( Greg), Kari Kevin(Barb), Diane(Dave), Denise(Don), Brian(Cindy), Steve(Holly), Kathy(Kevin), Dennis, Sandy(Todd), Roger(Kristina), Bonnie(Russ),Tom(Tricia),Mary(Dean) Donna(Brian),Bill, Darlene(Jeff) and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Tom Taylor; and two brothers-in-law, Jeff and Richard Taylor, a cousin Sandy and a special Aunt Helen.
Funeral services will be held on Tues., Nov. 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee. Msgr. James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Tues. from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
