Harold J. Seibel age 78, died on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. He was born on August 28, 1935 in Portage to Lester and Bertha (Parrell) Seibel. He was married to Nancy Dykstra on March 15, 1956 in Fox Lake. Harold retired as a master sergeant with the 476th Fighter Day Tactical Squadron, after serving more than 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, in 1976. A milestone which made his family forever very proud. He was a member of the 18th Fighter Wing Association, the Wild Weasel Association and lifetime member and attendee of the EAA. Harold owned and operated Harold Woodworks and just enjoyed life whether woodworking in the shop or puttering on his classic cars and entering them in area car shows. In his younger years, he enjoyed drag racing. Harold loved fishing on a relaxing lake or researching family geneology with his daughter.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Columbus; three sons, Ken of Des Plaines IL, Terry of Cambria, Rick (Lynn) of Beaver Dam; two daughters, Gail (Erv) Van Buren of Waupun and Tonya (Sean) Horner of Beaver Dam; ten grandchildren, Samantha Seibel, Barry and Brenda Van Buren, Aimee Weismann, Nathan and Sarah Seibel, Alex, Andrew, Riley and Codey Horner; four great granddaughters, Nancy Van Buren, Alyvia Tennies, Krystal and Augustine Zastrow; a sister, Frances Alderden of Beaver Dam; a brother, Frank (Alexis) of Fall River; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale in 1993; grandson, Christopher Van Buren in 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Jensen funeral home, Columbus. Rev. Mark D. Jensen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus with full military honors.
