Gregg Charles Huckabone “HUCK”, age 67, received his angel wings on the evening of Sept. 10, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. HUCK was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 30, 1950 the son of the late Franklin and Margaret (Brown) Huckabone. He was a U.S. Veteran deployed in Vietnam in the Marine Corps. Huck was united in marriage to Deborah Ann Arnold on April 8, 1983. He was employed by the Dane County Highway Department. Huck took pleasure in spending time with family and friends and his birds that he fed every morning. He loved semi driving, fishing, fixing anything in his garage, camping, motorcycles, trains, tugboats and guns. Huck was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Gun Club and a Volunteer Firefighter.
He is survived by this wife, Deborah Huckabone (Arnold); his four children, Shayne (Kristi) Custer of Lone Rock, Shawn Klingbeil (Jeff) of Princeton, Gregg Huckabone II of Cancun, and Holly Huckabone of Waunakee; four grandchildren, Shawna Boettcher, Alexis (Jared) Ferren, Andres Oritz Huckabone & Gregg Huckabone III; one great grandchild, Kaiden Ferren and loyal puppy TBY Huckabone, Rocky & Sasha Dupuis; his brother, Frank Huckabone; 3 nephews, Jay Huckabone, Todd Huckabone, and Eric (Jahnyne); and a niece, Tammy (Dave) Huckabone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother in-law, Elmer and Marcella Arnold; his best friend Uncle Tiny; and by request his faithful four legged companion will be by his side, Kola Huckabone.
A funeral service will be held at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water Street, Sauk City, Wisconsin at 11:00 am, Monday, Sept. 18, 2017. Visitation is from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A celebration of life will follow the services at the VFW Club, 700 VFW Drive, Prairie du sac, Wisconsin.
