Glenn M. Holzhuter

STOUGHTON, Wis. - Glenn M. Holzhuter, age 79, of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at his home after celebrating Christmas with his family. He was born on March 24, 1934, in Deerfield, the son of Herbert and Edna (Sorum) Holzhuter.

Glenn graduated from Deerfield High School in 1952. He was united in marriage to Nancy Otteson on June 16, 1956 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton.

Glenn served in the U. S. Army and Army Reserves. He also served Dane County for 35 years, 12 with the Highway Dept. and 23 with the Traffic Police. Glenn loved going to his cabin in Clam Lake, spending time with his family at Lake Camelot, and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Greg (Wendy) and children, Leslie (Brian), Michael (Caitlin), Cortney, Danielle, Gunner, and his granddaughter, Mila; son, Mark (Rita) and children, Erik, Jordan and Ashley; daughter, Mary (David) Erdman and children Matthew and Carlie; brother, Dale (Marian); sister-in-law, Alberta (Herm) Steffens; brother-in-law, Otto Otteson; sister-in-law, Arlene Otteson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; brother-in-law, Robert Otteson; and sister-in-law, Jean Otteson.

Funeral services will be held at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 County Rd. B, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, with the Rev. Scott and Rev. Paula Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will be at Eastside Lutheran Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a luncheon served at the church. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy. 51, Stoughton, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Glenn's name to Christ Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
