Gerald Anthony Piekarski

Gerald "Jerry" Anthony Piekarski, age 53 years of Lake Delton, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 surrounded by his family at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.

He was born on September 8, 1959 in Portage to Gerald L. and Helen (Schultz) Piekarski. Jerry lived in the Wisconsin Dells area all his life where he owned and operated his own business, Westward Construction. He had an entrepreneurial sense and always took a chance on a new business venture. He owned Port Vista and rental properties in the Wisconsin Dells area. He liked to hunt and especially loved the challenge of bow hunting. Jerry grew up on Lake Delton and enjoyed fast boats and barefoot waterskiing. In the winter he enjoyed snowmobiling and his yearly family trip to Florida. Jerry loved a good bargain and enjoyed flea markets and hunting for deals online. Spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs was another pastime of Jerry's.

Jerry was very intelligent and had a great ability to give advice. He was a caring, generous person who helped out his friends and family anytime he could. He had a good sense of humor and liked to joke around with others. His mischievous smile will be missed by many.

He will be greatly missed by Susan Piekarski, wife of 30 years, 3 daughters, Lisa Piekarski of Madison, Amy Piekarski (fiancé – Aric Pederson) of Fall River and Katie Piekarski of Madison, father, Gerald of Wisconsin Dells, brother, Jim (Carol) Jax of Wendell, Idaho, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen and his brother Bill Jax.

The family would like to thank the Home Health United staff for their great care. They would also like to thank Zhanna and Dakota, caregivers of Jerry and special thanks to Karen Wilcox who helped care for him for 8 years.

Visitation will take place at the Picha Funeral Home, 120 East Adams St, Lake Delton on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 5 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Picha Funeral Home, Lake Delton with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating.
