Frederick John "Freddy" Jensen passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, after a long struggle with Dementia and related health issues.
Fred was born in Janesville on July 26, 1941, the son of Harold and Elfie Jensen.
He graduated from Janesville High and Milton College. Fred and Jean Motherwell were married on August 21, 1965, and raised a large family. Fred worked for years as an accountant and controller, and then as owner of Print-N-Stuff and Highland Heritage stores in Cambridge. He then worked at local hardware stores, and finally in the Electrical Department at The Home Depot until his retirement in 2007.
Fred is survived by his 5 children: Jon (Theresa) Jensen, Deb (Aaron) Richards, Steve Jensen, Chris Jensen, and Shandra (Chad) Peterson. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren: Jordan, Shawn, Hunter, Talon, and Craig Jensen, Kaley Campbell, Robbie and Van Jensen, Neill and Autum Peterson, all of whom gave him years of joy and pride as he played with them and watched them as they grew up; and a great-grandson Remington Long. He is also survived by a sister, Peg (Ken) Murray; and a nephew, Ryan (Sara) Murray. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elfie; father, Harold; wife, Jean; and 2 uncles, Ray and Maurice Jensen.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Roxbury Church of Christ, Janesville with Rev. Jon Grice officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville.

Even as the Dementia closed in on him, Fred was always ready with a smile and a wave for everyone, which will be missed by all who worked with and knew him.
