Evelyn C. Knoble, 92 of Gays Mills, passed away Friday, June 13th, 2014.
She was born in Crawford County on May 13, 1922 to Selmer and Ida (Krogan) Swanson. Evelyn was united in marriage to Joseph Paul Knoble at the Little Brown Church in Iowa on March 26, 1941. They farmed together their entire lives. She was a member of the Mount Sterling Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid.
Evelyn will be missed by her children: Shirley (Norm) Moffitt of Safford, AZ, Beverly Spangenberg of Beloit, Joann (Dan) Felckowski of Beloit, and Roy (Kathy) Knoble of Gays Mills; 19 grandchildren: Jeff Moffitt, Jody Ybarra, Mark Felckowski, Nicole Felckowski, Ronnie Spangenberg, Lana Dummer, Tammy Tinder, Reece Justus, Wayne DeGraef, Joey DeGraef, Kari Hunter, Jason Knoble and Julie Knoble. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Stussy; she is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Paul Knoble; two daughters, Nancy Justus and Ruth DeGraef; brothers, Gehard and Albin Swanson and a sister, Helen Wallace.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Mount Sterling Lutheran Church in Mount Sterling with Pastor Nile Sandeen will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills (Hwy. 131) and will continue from 10 am until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
Evelyn’s family would like to thank the staff of Sannes – Skogdalen Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided to Evelyn.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Vosseteig Funeral Home of Gays Mills.
