MADISON-Evan “Jack” Norgord, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Heritage Senior Living in Monona.

He was born on March 22, 1921, in Madison, the son of Evan Norgord Sr. and Clara Strommen. Jack was in the U.S. Army Air Corp and then the Wisconsin National Guard. He married Doris Schluenz on Oct. 12, 1946, in Madison. Jack loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known to be able to fix anything and loved traveling and camping.

Jack is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Robert (Becky) Norgord, David (Bettie) Norgord, and Shirley (David) Schmidman; brothers, George, Jim, and Dick; sisters, Catherine, Audrey, and Ruth; grandchildren, Michael, Mandi, Dana, and Amanda; and two great-grandchildren, Connor and MiKayla. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, with the Rev. Jerry Amstutz presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
