Ethel G. Smith, age 87, of Belleville passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her home.
She was born on May 17, 1925, near Blanchardville, WI to her parents Theodore and Mildred (Waage) Grunnet. Ethel attended the Yellowstone School. On April 9, 1949, she was united in marriage to William A. Smith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oregon, WI.
Ethel loved her family – flowers, gardening, and baking.
Ethel is survived by her husband William, sons; Bruce (Ellen) Smith, Bill (Mary) Smith, and Brian (Juliana) Smith, daughters; Barbara Smith, Beverly (Glen) Burrows, Beth (Jeff) Buesser, Betty Carlson, and Brenda Smith, eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. She is further survived by a brother Jerome (Eunice) Grunnet and sisters Gladys Frautschy and June (Fred) Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Evelyn Marie, a sister Charlene Anderson, a brother Glen Grunnet, a brother-in-law Leland Frautschy, a son-in-law David Carlson, and nephews Steve Grunnet and Larry Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Brooklyn Lutheran Church, 101 Second St., Brooklyn, WI 53521 with Pastor Rebecca Ninke officiating with burial in the East Dayton Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
An order of the Eastern Star Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. preceding the visitation.
