STOUGHTON-Esther A. Niemeyer, age 89, of Stoughton, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Aug. 20, 1923, in Hudson, Kan., the daughter of Adolph and Emma Kalkbrenner. She married Irwin Niemeyer on May 27, 1944, in Palatine, Ill. Esther was a nurse for many years. She loved to crochet, sew, quilt, cook, bake and paint. Esther was an avid card player, enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and fishing. Irv and Esther loved traveling. They visited all our states, but never made it to Alaska. Most of all, Esther loved spending time with family; including helping Joyce and Jerry at Cheesers.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Esch; granddaughter, Tina (Rick) Bunnell; great-granddaughter, Jordayn; and great-grandson, Cade. She was preceded in death by her husband; siblings, Adolph, Emma, Paul, Justice, Fred, Hans, Kurt, Gene, and Bob; and son-in-law, Jerry Esch.
Funeral services will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD BY THE LAKE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1860 Hwy 51, Stoughton, at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, with the Rev. Todd McVey presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name at Good Shepherd by the Lake Lutheran Church.
