Madison--Dorothy Evelyn Wiganowsky "Mom", died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare.

She was born October 17, 1928 in the Town of Medina, the daughter of William and Anna (Beam) Heiman. She was married to Edward Wiganowsky on October 25, 1947 in Marshall.

She loved spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was employed by the family business, Wiggies, for more than 20 years as a cook. She enjoyed spending time with the patrons who would stop in and who knew her as “mom”. She had fun playing bingo and was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; attending church was an important part of her life.

Surviving Dorothy are three children, David (Angela) Wiganowsky of Sun Prairie, Karen Wiganowsky of Madison, Bruce (Sharon) Wiganowsky of Madison; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Dennis; three brothers, Lyle, Marvin and Leo Heiman; and three sisters, Lyla Klug, Mildred Lafler and Alice Heiman.

A funeral service will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at ST PAUL’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2126 N. Sherman Avenue, with Reverend Gerry Kuhnke officiating.

Visitation will be on Wednesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Medina Cemetery.
