MCFARLAND/OREGON – Dorothy Molony, age 97, of McFarland/Oregon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.

She was born on December 29, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of John and Olga Martin. Dorothy married Michael Molony on Sept. 1, 1945, and they moved to Oregon, Wis. Together they worked and built Molony Tile Co., Inc. until they retired and sold the business in 1978.

Family was the most important part of Dorothy’s life. She was always there when we needed her and worried about our welfare. Dorothy epitomized what it meant to be a “mom”. We hold her in a special place in our lives and the lives of all those she touched.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jacki (Duke) Damson of McFarland; two grandchildren, Kit (Bretta) Damson of Zumbrota, Minn., and Courtney (Shane) Snorek of La Crosse; and two great-grandsons, Dane and Hans Damson. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews in many states. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; parents, John and Olga Martin; a brother, Jack Martin; and many close in-laws and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5306 Main Street, McFarland, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. A lunch will follow in the church hall. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.

A special good-bye to her “extended family” at Harmony House in McFarland. She thought the world of you all and appreciated the care and compassion you gave her over the years.

Agrace HospiceCare helped her complete her journey with peace and compassion that will never be forgotten by her family.

Thank you is such a small word, but comes from our hearts. “We will miss her so much, but know she is watching over us and reuniting with our loved ones.”
