DOROTHY M. HOFFMAN age 85 of Rome passed away Friday September 27, 2013 at Eagle View Manor in Jefferson.

She was born on September 7, 1928 in the town of Sugar Creek, daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Schaffitzel) Messerschmidt II.

She married Donald Hoffman on September 11, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Whitewater; he preceded her in death March 18, 2001.

She was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Sullivan.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and playing cards. She was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. She was a wonderful homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her family, daughters: Sharon Hoffman of Fort Atkinson, Mary (Andy Slade) Hoffman of San Diego CA, Anne (Roger) Lindl of Whitewater, Susan (Mark) Muehlhausen of Madison, Tanya Campbell of Fort Atkinson. Sons: Mike Hoffman of Fort Atkinson, Dan (Deb) Hoffman of Rome,
Bill “Hans” (Brenda) Hoffman of Rome, Ken (Diana) Hoffman of Fort Atkinson,
Mark Hoffman of Rome, John Hoffman of Rome, David Hoffman of Jefferson,
Tom “Zeke” Hoffman of Sullivan. 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren

Special friends; Pat Clark and Jane Renz She is also preceded in death by one son Donald Jr. and daughter Sheila, two brothers and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Sullivan with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will follow in the Parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and then again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time ofMass.
