MADISON-Doris J. Kaltenberg, age 80, went home to live with our Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013. She was born on July 4, 1932, in Madison and lived there her entire life. Doris was the daughter of Julius and Ella Klemstine. She was united in marriage to John Kaltenberg on Sept. 30, 1950 and together they raised three children. Doris worked as a cook for many years and especially enjoyed baking delicious Christmas cookies for family and friends. She loved to read and was particularly fond of Dr. Seuss books or mystery novels. Doris also loved to go shopping, play cards or take on a good game of scrabble, and make annual trips to the State Fair. Doris was very patriotic and often referred to herself as the firecracker baby. She loved telling stories and collecting angels. Doris overcame breast cancer twice in her life and was actively involved in the Susan Komen Race for the Cure.

Doris was a kind, loving, generous and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her love of God, family and friends was so strong that you never walked away from her without feeling that love. She will live forever in our hearts.

Special thanks to her many friends who have been so special to her in her life. You know how much she loved all of you. Many more thanks to the staff at Harmony who provided her with such wonderful care for the last two years and with whom she developed many loving friendships, especially Alicia. Also, thank you to Angel and Dr. Spitzer-Reznick at Wildwood Clinic, as well as, Agrace HospiceCare for providing comfort and care the last few days of her life.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, John Kaltenberg; daughter, Kristi Kay Kaltenberg; niece, Melody McCallum-Noll; parents; grandparents; aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She is survived by her son, John (Kay) Kaltenberg; daughter, Vicki (Larry) Perzentka; grandchildren, Larry John (Jenny), John, Amanda (Steve) and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Madisen, L.J., Ella and one more on the way; sister, Patricia (Neil) McCallum; nephew, Paul; great-nephew, Neil; and great-niece, Rachel.
