MADISON-Donna Mae (Monson) Huggins, age 84, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1929, in Madison, the daughter of Nelvin and Edith (Moen) Monson. Donna graduated from Madison East High School in 1946. She married her high school sweetheart, Keith Ivan Huggins, on July 15, 1950. Donna worked for American Family Insurance for 31 years, retiring in 1991. After Keith passed in 1999, she learned to drive at the age of 71, and was very proud to accomplish that. Donna will be remembered to always have a smile on her face. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and later became a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Donna taught Sunday school for 27 years at Trinity and enjoyed singing in their choir. She enjoyed being an East Towne Mall walker, playing euchre, camping at Holiday Shores in the Wisconsin Dells, and both attending and planning class reunions. Most of all, Donna treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Denise (Steve) Cheramy and Kevin (Jan) Huggins; grandchildren, Juline (Daniel) Kleinheinz, Jenna (James) Shinstine, and Paula (Joshua) Pope; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Kleinheinz and Emerson Pope; many close friends; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keithie; and her parents. Private family funeral services will be held. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

Thank you to the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital and Agrace HospiceCare for their loving care.
