Donald J. Lukas, age 83, of Janesville, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Janesville Hospital. He was born on Jan. 22, 1930, in Janesville, WI, the son of Anton and Mabel (Agnew) Lukas of Milton. He married Carol Wright on March 24, 1953, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church and raised seven children. Don was a businessman, who owned and operated two True Value Hardware stores in Janesville; a master plumber; a military veteran; and a general aviation pilot. His passions were sharing his faith (both at home and abroad), flying, and skiing. He loved his family dearly and was always one to provide them with new experiences and challenge them to try new adventures.
Donald is survived by his children and grandchildren: James (Cheryl) Lukas, daughter, Rachel of Onalaska; Michael (Kathryn) Lukas, son, Brian of Janesville; Linda Lukas of Hazelwood, MO; Sandra (Ken) Wagman, daughters, Ashley (Jacen) Stoiber and Amber of Janesville; Paul Lukas of Janesville, children, Erin (Paul) Williams, Stephanie, and Justin; Jackquline (Joel) Rennie of Menominee, MI, children, Jacob, Nicholas, Travis, and Brooklynn; and Jennifer (Brian) Laatsch of Janesville, daughters, Hannah, Bethany, and Lauren; and 2 siblings, MaryAnne (El) Boie, of Waukesha, and Henry (Cindy) Lukas, of Milton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at TURNING POINT CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Tom Zillman officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Junction Cemetery, Milton. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. Memorials can be made to Turning Point Church, Janesville.
