Donald H. Lund

MADISON-Donald Henry Lund, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Meriter Hospital.

He was born on April 17, 1929, in Madison, to Henry and Selma (Johnson) Lund. As a child Donald loved spending time on the farm in Wyotta Wi., with his uncles. He graduated from East High School. Donald married Mary Lou Davenport on Feb. 18, 1950, in Madison. He owned and operated Lund Builders, and built homes and apartments as a member of the Madison Builders' Association.

Don was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a proud Norwegian, who enjoyed many Lutefisk dinners at Vermont Lutheran Church. He was an avid Packers and Badgers fan and bowler.

Don loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed teaching them how to golf.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; children, Kathleen (Ken) Kurtenbach, David (Nancy) Lund, Jeanne (Gordon "Chip") Davenport, and Daniel (Mandy) Lund; grandchildren, Ben (Courtney) Kurtenbach, Erik (Scotch) Kurtenbach, Elizabeth (Levi Beerup) Kurtenbach, Dustin Lund, Dylan Lund, Bradley (Jenna) Davenport, Andrea Davenport, and Brian Davenport; great-grandchildren, Tenley and Hawken Kurtenbach and Daniel Davenport; brother, James (Louise) Lund; and sister-in-law, Joanne Lund. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Alva (Arnold) Voss, Harvey Lund, Charlotte (Carl) Stemrich, Ruthie (George) Sorenson, Dorothy (Bob) Greninger, and Marjorie Millin.

Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago St., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, with the Rev. JoAnne Fabie presiding. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vermont Lutheran Church, 9806 Vermont Church Rd., Black Earth, WI 53515.
