Belleville, WI - Donald F. Pauli, 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg surrounded by his family.
He was born on Jan 7, 1928, son of Fred and Kathryn (Zentner) Pauli of rural Belleville. He attended Paoli School and graduated from Verona High School in 1946. On November 1, 1951 he was united in marriage to Marie Davidson at Christ Lutheran Church, Deforest, WI. Don was drafted into the U.S. Army on Nov 29, 1951 and served during the Korean War. After being discharged on November 28, 1953, Don returned to the family farm where he and Marie raised their family.
Don served on the Paoli School Board, the Montrose Town Board, the Upper Sugar River Watershed Board, the Board of Directors of the Citizen’s State Bank, the AMPI Board and could be counted on to help with many community projects. He also served as treasurer of Belleville American Legion Post #460 and as president of the Belleville Community Club.
In 1974 he began as a salesman for Martinson Implement of Brooklyn and later for Washington Implement of Monticello from where he retired. Don also clerked for Auction Specialists for many years.
Don enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, and listening to music. He enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers and Badgers, but especially looked forward to attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Don is survived his wife Marie, four children, William and LuAnn Pauli of Belleville, their children Katie and Scott Mosher, Thomas and special friend Amanda Haag, and Janelle; Gail and Ken Bauman of Belleville, and their children Lisa and Jacob; Larry and Jan Pauli of Belleville, their sons Nicholas and Bryan; David and Trina Pauli of Belleville, and their sons Justin and Garrett; two great grandchildren, Alivia and Henry Mosher. He is also survived sisters Faye P. Whitaker of Verona and Mary S. Eves of Watsonville, CA; brother-in-law Ollis and Elaine Davidson of De Forest; and sisters-in-law Mary Pauli of Belleville and Dorothy Severson of Madison, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Pauli, and brothers-in-law Bernie Severson and James Whitaker.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Zwingli United Church of Christ-Paoli, 1338 County Rd. PB, Belleville, WI with Reverend Sara Rabe officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
A memorial fund has been established.
