CROSS PLAINS-The world lost a beautiful, kind and generous spirit, Dolores "Dee" Landgraf, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg.
She was born on September 20, 1927 in Hayward,Wis., the daughter of Matt and Zoe (Berard) Wells. Dee was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Landgraf on June 7, 1947 in Hayward. She was employed with the Middleton/Cross Plains School District as a teacher's aide at Sauk Trail Elementary and later worked at the school district offices.
Dee and Larry enjoyed spending their retirement summers at their cabin in Hayward on Durphee Lake connecting with family and friends there.
Dee had a variety of interests including her love of reading, scrabble, crossword puzzles, cards and collecting cookbooks, but she truly treasured most the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Larry; two daughters, Jan Landgraf Rust, Terri Buechner; daughter-in-law, Dorinda Landgraf; three grandchildren Lisa Lipscomb, Dana (Tim) Schmock, Travis Buechner; ten great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Dee was preceded in death by two sons, Jim and Tom.
Memorial services will be held at MIDDLETON COMMUNITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 645 Schewe Road, Middleton, at 2 pm on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, with the Reverend James Iliff presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 12:30 pm until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Middleton Community United Church of Christ or Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
Dee will always be remembered as a positive and generous spirit.
