Derek James Rohr was born into our hearts on September 10, 1993 and passed away on October 3, 2016 in Madison, Wisconsin. He will live forever in our memories.
Born to his father, Thomas C Rohr, of Wisconsin Dells and his mother, Kerry A Erwin of Mauston, WI. He began growing into the man we all love, first, attending Countryside Montessori Preschool and Lindbergh Elementary in Madison, WI. Memories surface of his great bee attack, earning the title of "Dr. D", his best friends, and favorite teachers. He continued to grow and learn from the wonderful staff at Mauston High School with the graduating class of 2012. Their class motto was "The world is not ending: we are just taking over!" He enjoyed playing basketball, becoming a lifeguard, and his many friends including foreign exchange students. He was in his 5th year at the University of Wisconsin pursuing a degree in English with a focus in creative writing. Descriptive words of his character include; intellectual, deep thinker, compassionate, and kind.
He is survived in family by his Father, Thomas C Rohr, of Wisconsin Dells, Mother, Kerry A Erwin, of Mauston, Step-Father, Mark Erwin, of Mauston, Brothers, Bradley A Halverson and Malachi M Erwin, of Mauston, his Grandfather, Henry Rohr of Portage, Grandfather, John W Pinkham, of Arkansas, Grandmother Mary E Hodge of Mauston, Uncle James E.W. Pinkham of Florida, Aunt Sherry Rohr of Baraboo, Aunt Christina M Falagian and Aunt Hope R Patton, of Mauston, many cousins, extended family, friends, and teachers. Derek was preceded in death by his Grandmother Charlene Rohr of Portage and his Grandfather Clyde Hodge of Mauston.
A Celebration of Derek’s Life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Crandall Funeral Home. Visitation commences at 10:00 am. Pastor Paul Plowman from House of Faith will officiate.Please join us for a luncheon to follow at Mauston City Hall/Community Center after service.
