Dennis L. Kane
Dennis L. Kane, age 72, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully at his home in Edgerton on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013. Dennis was born on Jan. 24, 1941, raised in Hanover, WI, and graduated from Orfordville Parkview High School. Dennis was the eldest of six sons born to the late Edward Clifford and Marion Margaret (Mahoney) Kane. Dennis married Susan (Schoville) Kane on Feb. 20, 1960, and together they shared 53 years. Dennis will forever be remembered by his beloved children: Dennis, Kelly Schroeder, Michelle (Jay) Smith, and Shawn; his thirteen treasured grandchildren; three beautiful great-grandchildren; five brothers: Douglas, Edward, Gary, Tom and Steve; and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers-in-law, and sisters-in law.
Dennis often expressed to his children his undying love and gratitude for their mother, his beloved wife Susan. Dennis received great pleasure in exchanging stories with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He felt great pride in having worked at General Motors in Janesville for 33 years, and held very fond memories of the 23 years he worked, as an electrician for GM. Dennis was a big Badger and Packer fan who loved to hunt and fish. One of Dennis' most enjoyable memories was of hunting out west with brother-in-law, Mike Stluka.
Dennis touched the lives of many with his strength, love of family, and non-complaining, headstrong 40-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Dennis maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
A Celebration of Dennis's Life will be held at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 837 Parkview Drive, Milton, on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton.
