Della Mae Voigts, 94, of Platteville died on Monday, September 19, 2016 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Faustino Ruiz and Deacon Bill Bussan will concelebrate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass at the church.

Della Mae was born on September 5, 1922 in Belmont, Wisconsin, daughter of Frank and Lucille (Ludlum) Sornberger. She was united in marriage to Homer J. Voigts on February 12, 1945. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2000. She graduated from Belmont High School and State Teachers College (UW-Platteville). She taught school for a short time, and farmed for many years with her husband, Homer. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Platteville and CCW. Della Mae enjoyed playing cards and belonged to many card clubs. She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and baking. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by her five children, Joann (Jim) Myers of Mequon, WI; Lois (Larry) Bartling of Brookfield, WI; “Jack” (Marcy) Voigts of Casa Grande, AZ; Fritz (Becki) Voigts of Platteville; Dee (Joe) Robbins of Dubuque; ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and her extended family and friends at Bears Court. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Loretta Voigts.
