Deborah J. Ludwig, 62, of Platteville, died on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Southwest Health Center Hospital, Platteville. A Celebration of life visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where there will be a time of sharing starting at 6:00 p.m. Please dress casual for this celebration of life for Deb. Deborah was born on May 28, 1952, in Platteville, the daughter of the late Richard and Marie (Kramer) Ludwig. She was a graduate from Platteville High School. She was a line supervisor at Advance Transformer in Platteville, until its closing. She also worked at the Postville Bakery in Postville, IA until she worked for the last four years at the Platteville WalMart deli. She was well known for her baking. She loved to help others and spend time with family and friends and was a mentor to many young people at work. Her co-workers at WalMart were her second family. Deborah is survived by two sons, Mark (Kristy) Burkholder of Puyallup, WA; Eric Burkholder of Dubuque, IA; five granddaughters; three grandsons; two sisters, Karen (Lyle) Habel and Edna Ludwig, both of Platteville. As well as many nieces and nephews.
