MADISON- Dean William Hohlstein, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1941, in Madison, the son of Benjamin and Helen (Teeter) Hohlstein. He was united in marriage to Kay Hammersley on Sept. 14, 1962, in Madison.
Dean attended Madison East High school, graduating in 1959. He pursued a successful career as a salesman for Body Shop Supply. Dean very much enjoyed his work, and became an invaluable member of Body Shop Supply, he retired after nearly 50 years. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great story teller.
Dean’s true love was his family and friends, they were the light of his life.
Dean is survived by his wife, Kay; his four children, Gail (Loretta) Hohlstein, Jim (Kristi) Hohlstein, Ben Hohlstein and Deanna (Chris) Campbell; seven grandchildren, David (Breona), Alex, Cassie, Ian, Cory, Kaylee and Connor; great-granddaughter, Athena; brother, Duane (Pat) Hohlstein; sister-in-law, Judy (Don) Bukstein; brother-in-law, Phil (Mary) Cundy; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Pat (Leon) Matteson.
Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home, beginning at 4 p.m.
