Dean S. Einerson, age 93, passed away peacefully in his home October 6, 2013.
He was born on April 23, 1920 in Blanchardville, Wisconsin to the late Martin and Belinda (Swiggum) Einerson. Dean graduated from Blanchardville High School, and later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from U.W. Platteville. In 1947 he married the former Mary Lou Niesen at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wauwatosa, WI. He taught school in Brooklyn, Evansville, and Janesville. Following his retirement, he spent many years as a volunteer for the Friends of the Library, and also as a docent at the Lincoln-Tallman Home and the Rock County Historical Society. He was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award from the V.F.W. Kienow-Hilt Post 1621. Encouraging children to appreciate reading and history brought joy to Dean. His gentle counsel will be missed by many. Dean was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Janesville. He was a past member of the Janesville Noon Lions Club.
Dean is survived by his children, the Rev. Dean (Barbara) of Rhinelander, WI, John (Ellen) Einerson, of San Francisco, CA, Paul Einerson, of Oshkosh, Margaret (John) Winn, of Oshkosh, WI, and David (Bich du) of Janesville, WI. Six grandchildren: Dean(Kaija Webster)Einerson, Catherine (Scott) McIntyre, Clarissa (Michael) Gaulke, Patrick Winn, and Eric and Emily Einerson. Five great grandchildren, Veda, Morgan, AnnaBella, Brayden, and Michael, one sister, Eileen Einerson of Platteville, WI, one sister-in-law, Ida Niesen, of Rockford, Il, one brother-in-law, Al Niesen of Hales Corners, WI, his close friends, Ken and Kathy Tapp, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife, parents, two brothers, Herbert and Martin, and two sisters, Joan Hirshbrunner and Clairys Stark.
Funeral services with a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 315 Cherry St., with Fr. James Kuhn and Deacon John Houseman officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the CHURCH. Memorials in Dean's name would be appreciated to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
