David "Gil" B. Farningham

March 9, 1935 - October 7, 2016/ David B. "Gil" Farningham, 81, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12th at the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green, WI with Pastor Roy Lewis officiating. Burial with military honors accorded will be in the Hazel Green Cemetery in Hazel Green, WI. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 12th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green, WI.

The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Gil was born on March 9, 1935 to David & Rosalie (Mullens) Farningham in Tuxedo Park, NY. He enlisted in the US Air Force for 8 years working as an AACS and was stationed overseas in England for 3 years. He then attended MIT where he studied engineering. He married Ruby Terwilliger on September 23, 1956 in Walden, NY. They have just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. He was a EMT with the Walden Volunteer Ambulance Corp. in Walden, NY and worked as a Scanning Electron Microscopist until retirement.

Gil was a member of the American Legion Post #104, VFW Post #8318, EAA #327, Lions Club, Jaycees, and the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green, WI. Gil enjoyed airplanes, radio controlled planes, gardening, and car repairs. He volunteered as a little league coach, a Boy Scout leader, and at the United Methodist Church in Walden, NY and Hazel Green, WI, but most of all, he loved time spent with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered by his children as a great Dad.

Gil is survived by his wife, Ruby of Hazel Green, WI; 4 children: Sue Camargo of Neenah, WI, Sheryll Farningham of Humble, TX, Mike (Marjie) Farningham of Shullsburg, WI and Kief (Dana) Farningham of Hazel Green, WI; 9 grandchildren: JoAnna(Mike), Nicholas, Chris, Mark, Jason, Tim, David, Anthony(Tiffany) and Samantha(Daniel); 16 great grandchildren: Ava, Arya, Desi, Madison, John, Aliska, Taylor, Karma, Trip, Issabelle, Victoria, Klarity, Aiden, Taidum, Olivia and Zelda; and a niece from NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roderick Farningham.

We would like to thank the staff at Finely Hospital that took great care of Gil, especially Dr. Kirkendall and his nurses, Katie and Shauna.

In lieu of flowers a David B. "Gil" Memorial Fund has been established.
