JANESVILLE - Curtis A. Neumueller, age 68, of Janesville, died on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Janesville, on May 13, 1945, the son of William "Mel" and Maryel (Snyder) Neumueller. He was a 1963 graduate of Janesville High School. He married Vicki L. Strampe Sargent on January 27, 1973, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Janesville. Curt worked in maintenance for General Motors for 38 years. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and UAW Local 95. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening (where he took great pride in his yard), sports, and trips to the casinos. Curt always said his mission in life was to make others smile.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki of 40 years; 3 children: Robert C. (Robin Bertram) Sargent III of Ft. Atkinson, Sandra K. Sargent Palafox and William A. (fiancé, Andrea Adams) Neumueller both of Janesville; 7 grandchildren: Robert Sargent IV, Devin Stokes, Letitia Hill, Marcus Hill, Damon Hill, Melina Palafox and Bryce Neumueller; 6 siblings: Myrna (Richard) Rood of Janesville, Larry Neumueller of Milwaukee, Cassie (William) Schuman of Janesville, Martin Neumueller of Janesville, Leila Neumueller of Janesville, and Gary (Judy) Neumueller of Janesville; 5 step-siblings: Sigrid Chapman of Dallas, TX, Kristina (Tom) Stone of Janesville, Mark (Tonya Cline) Allen of Janesville, Valerie (Dennis) Larson of White Bear Lake, MN and Bradley Allen of Marshfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Joan Neumueller; and sister-in-law, Dona Neumueller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville with Msgr. Donn Heiar officiating. Burial will be at North Oakland Cemetery, rural Ft. Atkinson. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville and also on Tuesday at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass.
