WAUNAKEE-Charlotte A. Tupper, age 87, of Waunakee and Madison, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1926, in Madison, the daughter of George and Hattie (Sperry) Curtis.
She married Earl Tupper on June 1, 1944, in Black Earth, Wis. Charlotte worked for Badger Ordinance during WWII and was a long time State of Wisconsin employee. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. After retiring, Charlotte enjoyed traveling with her husband and her feline companions, purebred Siamese cats.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Ruth) Tupper of Harmony Grove; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, John “Jack” (Audrey) Curtis of Black Earth, and Jim (Mary) Curtis of Portage; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1994; sons, Donald and Douglas; and an infant daughter, Margaret.
Funeral Services will be held at GUDNERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, with Father Gary A. Wankerl presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove.
