Catherine "Katie" Bradley

Catherine "Katie" Bradley, age 85, of DeForest, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Parkside Assisted Living in DeForest, Wisconsin.

She was born on May 1, 1928, in Madison, the daughter of Martin and Cora (Beld) Wangsness. She married Frank Bradley on May 8, 1948. Katie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of DeForest where she was involved in many activities including Altar Guild and the annual lutefisk dinner. She worked for 35 years at Ethun Agency in DeForest. Mom enjoyed traveling, annual trips to Long Lake, spending time with friends but being with her family was the most important thing in her life. Mom will always be remembered for her caring phone calls and cards to family and friends whether it was a birthday, anniversary, illness or just to keep in touch.

Katie is survived by her children, Tom (Lynn) Bradley of Oregon, Pam Hamele of DeForest, and Robin (John) Cavanaugh of Middleton, grandchildren Eric (Nancy) Hamele, Scott (Mary) Hamele, Jessica (Dan) Dub, and Mitch (Kari) Bradley, great-grandchildren Joy & Drake Hamele, Gracie Hamele, Sam & Ben Dub, and Jack & Will Bradley as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Barb Beckman, brother-in-law Ralph Beckman, son-in-law Mark Hamele and other relatives.

The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside & SouthernCare Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mom over the years. We would also like to thank Dennis & Bonnie Young for the help provided to Mom prior to her move to assisted living.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 220 South Main Street, DeForest, with Pastor Jerry A. Olson presiding. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, on her behalf.

You can only have one mother,
Patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,
To your mother you will turn,
For all her loving kindness
She asks nothing in return,

As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all,

Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.

Love, your family
