FITCHBURG-Bonnie Louise Gottsacker, age 72, succumbed to a long and hard fought battle to brain cancer, early in the morning, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014. She was surrounded by her family, and will continue to be loved.

Bonnie was born on Feb. 2, 1942, in Aurora, Ill. She lived in Fitchburg, Wis., in the family home, with her husband of 47 years. In her free time, her passions were quilting and caring for her family. She also anticipated and loved her trips with family and friends to Indian Shores, in Northern Wis., and Valle del Oro, in Mesa, Ariz.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Gottsacker; her three daughters, Sandra (David) Hanke, Colleen (Glen) Hansen, and Brenda Gottsacker; her grandchildren, Adam and Samuel Hanke; and her five sisters and brother, Nancy (Ken) Neal, Dennis (Cindy) Feltes, Beverly (Warren) Brandwine, Betty (Richard) Stahl, Mary (Gregory) Mix and Alice (Timothy) Burandt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Fremont Feltes; and her infant brother and sister Kenneth and Charleen Feltes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CHURCH, 651 N. Main Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, followed by a luncheon. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, or the UW Carbone Cancer Center, Brain Cancer Research Fund. The family would like to thank the Agrace HospiceCare team as well as Dr. Robins and the staff at UW Hospital for their help and support.
