Blanche F. Eggers of Highland, a lady of true dignity, began her eternal journey on Saturday, January 18, 2014.

Blanche was born in Castle Rock on February 22, 1923 to John C. and Tressie (Lepeska) Nowak. Blanche met the love of her life, Arnold George Eggers on the dance floor at Castle Rock Ridge. They married on September 14, 1943 and raised seven children. Blanche was a dedicated member of Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church and served in many volunteer roles, including baking a peach pie that sold for $100 at a fundraiser. Blanche’s strength came from her faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold on February 7, 1985; her parents; three sisters, Cecilia Nowak; Mary Ann Simpson and Helen Hrubes and three brothers, Donald, Bernard and Jack Nowak.

Blanche is survived by her grateful children and their families: Dan and Vickie Eggers and their children, Kelly, Brian, John and Angie; Alan and Kathy Eggers and their children, Jill, Lori, Nancy and Michelle; Sharon and Dennis Olson and their children, Chris, Jesse, Michael and Katie; Mark and Sandra Eggers and their children, Caroline and Andrew; Mary and Denny Green and their son, Jacob; Ann and Brad Laufenberg and their children, Carolyn, Ben, Brandon and Ross; and Rita and Paul Riehemann and their children, Max and Danika along with 23 great grandchildren who, according to Blanche, were the icing on the cake,as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland. Fr. Jim Murphy and Fr. Kenneth J. Frisch will co-officiate with burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church would be greatly appreciated.
