STOUGHTON – Beatrice “Bea” Schwenn Becker, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Skaalen Home.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1922, in the Town of Burke, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Nelson) Schwenn. Bea married Duane Becker, he preceded her in death in July, 1970.
Bea was a stay at home mom until after her husband’s death. She worked for the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Crime Information Bureau & Consumers Protection department for 25 years. Bea was a member of Midvale Community Lutheran Church and also the Midvale Quilters. Bea enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time with her church friends, family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Thomas of Madison; and a daughter, Diane (Keith) Pollek of Burlington; two grandchildren, Amy and Matthew Pollek; a sister, Irene Legler of Sun Prairie; a brother, Raymond of Oregon; sisters-in-law, Pauline Schwenn of Cottage Grove and Carolyn Schwenn of Madison; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Bea was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; a sister, Hazel Hawley; and brothers, Arthur Schwenn and Albert Schwenn.
Funeral services will be held at MIDVALE COMMUNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3229 Tokay Blvd., Madison, at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013. Private burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Skaalen Home for all the wonderful compassionate Christian care given to Bea during her stay with them.
