Avis J. Muldowney age 84, died December 31, 2013. Avis was born to Burnie and Cleo (Poole) Ewing Sr. in Richland Center, WI on September 4, 1929. Avis was married to Joseph M. Muldowney on October 28, 1948 in Galena, Illinois.

Avis enjoyed playing softball in her younger years. As time went by, she was a help to local farmers milking cows for them when they went on vacation. She enjoyed bowling on a local league for many years and cake decorating for many members of her family and friends. Later in life, Avis watched and fed birds and become a fan of basketball and football games. Avis had many jobs in her lifetime. She worked at Schultz Brothers, Gillingham School, Gables, Mecury Industries, drove bus for 15 years, was a private caretaker for many people over the years, and her last job was at Family Dollar.

Avis was preceded in death by her father Burnie Ewing, Sr., her mother Cleo (Poole) Ewing, her husband, Joseph M. Muldowney, her sister, E. Elaine (Ewing) Clark.

Survivors include two brothers:

Bernie (Martha Benson) Ewing, Jr. of Lone Rock,

Dennis (Valerie Wollin) Ewing of Watertown,

three children:

Jacquline (Timothy) Nachitgal, of Richland Center,

Rick (Tina Cosgrove) Muldowney of Richland Center,

Robin Muldowney (Jaroslav Bezdecny) of Richland Center

seven grandchildren:

Jenny (Joe) Sweeny of Madison,

Jacob (Louise DeTroye) Muldowney of Madison,

Tyler Muldowney (Hannah Foley) of Richland Center,

Sarah (Derrick) Fish of Monroe,

Thomas (Grace Sheire) Nachtigal, Sr., of Richland Center,

Daniel Nachtigal of Yuba,

Lucas (Lindsay Peterson) Glick, of Lone Rock,

eleven great grandchildren:

Lily and Erin Sweeney,

Evelyn Muldowney,

Abby, Allie, Nick and Noah Fish,

Gabby, Kimmy, Sammy and Thomas Nachtigal, Jr.,

Also, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel in Richland Center on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM. Due to allergies, the family requests memorials be made to the Muldowney family in lieu of flowers. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
