Albert R. Gabris
Albert “Al” Gabris, age 80 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Newport Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend William Grimm officiating. Burial will be at the Newport Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Monday at the Newport Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Al was born September 17, 1933 in Lewiston Township, Columbia County, Wisconsin the son of Rudolph and Loretta (Breezer) Gabris. He was married to his beloved wife, Marie Klabunde on June 5, 1954 and they lived in the Dells area all their life. Al worked at the Kilbourn Creamery until it closed. He then worked at Bancroft Dairy in Madison until he went to work for Don’s Electric doing service work and installations. From 1984 to 1994 he owned and operated Al’s Heating. His most recent employment was with the Dells Boat Company. Al had also been a member of the Lake Mason Lions Club and was a past president and treasurer.
Al is survived by his devoted wife, Marie; children, Pam (Peter) Hyps of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Todd (Pam) Gabris of DeForest, Wisconsin, Lisa (Tim) Eakins of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Terri (Steve) Diemer of Madison, Wisconsin and Greg (Kelly) Gabris of Wisconsin Dells and 6 grandchildren, Dalton and Ashley Gabris, Jeremy and Samantha Gabris, Coral Eakins and Hilary (Brian) Shernell. Further survived by an AFS son, Lutz (Gudren) Tuckmantel and children, Malta, Pia, and Ole of Germany; brother, Chester (Barb) Gabris of DeForest, sisters, Elizabeth (Herb) Brunn of Wisconsin Dells, Olive (John) Kincaid of Verona, Wisconsin and Edie (Robert) Kelly of Madison; a brother in law, Donald (Shirl) Klabunde of Los Angeles, California, sisters in law, Dorothy Neitzel of Wisconsin Dells, Carol (Tom) Dugan of Portage and Jean (Al) Mohring of Janesville, Wisconsin; cousins, Richard (Cheryl) Breezer, Don (Geri) Breezer and Ken (Cheryl) Breezer and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sharon Marie.
In lieu of flowers memorials of remembrance may be directed to the Newport Lutheran Church or Lake Mason Lions Club.
