MADISON-Virginia “Ginny” Lokken, age 70, of Madison, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012. She was born on Dec. 24, 1941, the daughter of Peter G. and Alyce Langley. Ginny graduated from Edgewood High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Donnie Lokken on Nov. 23, 1961. Ginny studied at UW-Madison for a BA in Anthropology. She loved education, reading and artwork. Ginny took great pride in her family and grandchildren. She was very strong-willed and stood up for what she believed in.
Ginny is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donnie; Children, Dawn (Tim) Haag, Eric (Dawn) Lokken , David (Pam) Lokken and Brian (Ann) Lokken; 12 grandchildren; brothers, George (Jo) Langley and James (Laurie) Langley; sisters, Penni (Joe) Scanga, Carol Langley and Lynn (Pat) Lund. She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandchildren, Adam and Joshua.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
Memorials may be made in Ginny’s name to Agrace HospiceCare Inc.
