POYNETTE-On Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, our sister in Christ, Vera E. Jaech, joyfully and in peace went home to be with the Lord. Vera was born on June 6, 1916, to Alma and Carl Seamandel on the family homestead in Trenton. She completed primary and secondary school and received a certificate from Wisconsin Teacher’s College allowing her to being her teaching career in Plum Valley School in Wonewoc Township. On May 25, 1942, Vera married the love of her life, Howard E. Jaech, to whom she was wed for 51 years until he preceded her in death in 1993. Vera spent many years as a professional bookkeeper and credit manager for companies such as Firestone, Ray-O-Vac, Hanks Craft, and Chalmers Jewelers. The joy of Vera’s life was a continuing relationship with Christ and her constant dedication to serving the Lord on a daily basis. She was able to be home with her daughter and family for the last days of her life and died in her daughter’s arms. Vera was known by all to be a good and faithful servant for the Lord and wished to be remembered as a Child of God.
Vera is survived by her sons, Dean H. Jaech of Warren, Ohio, and Dale A. (Becky) of Mankato, Minn.; daughter, Lou Brady (Paul Fischer) of Poynette; seven grandchildren, David Jaech, Kathy Jaech, Chris Jaech, Heather Adams, Andy Brady, Jim Brady, and Amanda Jaech; and six great-grandchildren, Nichelle, Mike, and Keaton Adams, Meghan Butler, Derek Jaech, and Olivia Jaech.
Funeral services will be held at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 County Road K, Arlington, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, with the Rev. Scott Schwertfeger presiding. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Wonewoc. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
