Stanley A. Watters, 66, of Potosi, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Tennyson. Rev. Richard Leffler will officiate. Burial will be at Rock Church Cemetery, Livingston. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where there will be a scripture wake service at 3:45 p.m., or friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. Stanley was born on September 24, 1946 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of Clinton and Alice (Stoeffler) Watters. He was united in marriage to Belva Kopp on November 14, 1964 in Platteville. She preceded him in death on February 10, 1997. He worked for Georgia Pacific in Dubuque for many years as a graphic artist. Stan retired from Land’s End, Dodgeville where he was Catalog Production Supervisor. Stan was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Tennyson. He enjoyed coin collecting. Stan loved to spend time with his family, especially at his brother’s, Jim’s, Watters Edge Resort on Lake Tomahawk.
He is survived by his three children, Paula Langmeier of Platteville; Susan (Jim) Udelhoven of Potosi; Peter Watters of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with one to be born in April; brother, Jim (Pat) Watters of Lake Tomahawk, WI; two sisters, Betty (Ernie) Johnson of Monroe, WI; Mary Bresee of Jefferson, WI; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death also by his parents, infant son, Robert Anthony, grandson, Kelly Watters, and brothers, Melvin and Robert.
