Shawn C. Moriarity, age 58, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, after a year-long courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on April 22, 1958, in Madison, to Delores (Jeanne) and William Moriarity II. Shawn worked for over 20 years at Schoep's Ice Cream in Madison and for the past 11 years at Midwest Refrigerated Services.

She was an extremely hard working and dedicated employee. On Sept. 10, 1983, Shawn married the love of her life, Steve Killerlain. They meant every word of their vows, especially when they promised they'd care for each other in sickness and in health. Together, they had two beautiful daughters whom Shawn adored, Lisa Marie and Sarah Ann. When asked what her greatest life accomplishment was, Shawn quickly responded it was her family. Her husband, daughters and 4 grandkids were her whole world. Sierra, Conner, Cain and MadiLynn were the light of her life and the sparkle in her eye. She enjoyed every moment of being a grandma. Shawn was an incredibly selfless person. She always put others needs and wants ahead of her own. Shawn was always positive and brought out the best in those around her. She was a kind, loving, non-judgemental person. Shawn always treated everyone with respect. She loved camping and tubing trips with her family, watching Packer games at the American Legion and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Steve; daughters, Lisa (Dave) and Sarah (Charlie); grandchildren; Sierra, Conner, Cain and MadiLynn; siblings, Anita (Wayne), Bill (Darlene), Jeanne (Dennis), Colleen (Brian) and Kathy; her father-in-law, who she loved as her own, Jerry Killerlain; her in-laws, Dennis, Joellen, David (Denise), Teresa, Tracy, Todd (Sandy) and Rhonda; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Shawn was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne; mother-in-law, Joann; sister-in-law, Rhonda; and her father.

A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A celebration of life will follow at the AMERICAN LEGION POST NO. 534, 4911 Burma Rd., McFarland.
