Sharen M. Bold

Sharen Marie (DeWar) Bold, age 72, died peacefully at home Friday afternoon, Sept. 28, 2012, after a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Ft. Wayne, IN, the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Rose) DeWar. Her family lived in Waukesha and Milwaukee from 1941-1947 before coming back to the area where she grew up on farms near Janesville, Milton and Edgerton, with the family finally settling in Newville, WI. She attended Paul School in Milton, WI and was a 1958 graduate of Edgerton High School. On Oct. 29, 1966 she married Charles Bold and they built a home in rural Milton where they lived until 1993 when they moved to Janesville. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milton and later a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Janesville. She worked at Parker Pen during the first years of her marriage before leaving to stay at home with her young children. She worked at Prent Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 2004. Sharen was talented in drawing and painting and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and traveling; taking many trips and a few cruises with her husband, friends and family. She was very passionate about genealogy and photography; becoming known as "the family biographer". She was a loving, hands-on grandmother. She played softball for many years on leagues in Janesville and was an avid Packer and Badgers fan.

Sharen is survived by her husband of 46 years; her children, Angela (Carl) Strohrigl, Jr. and Marcus Bold of Janesville; her granddaughter Randi Davey of Chicago, IL; her twin sister, Karen Lorentzen of Byron, IL; her brothers, Robert (Judy) DeWar, of Ripon, WI, Richard (Linda) DeWar of Janesville, David (Becky) DeWar of Milton; Ronald (Nancy) DeWar of Edgerton; Gerald (Marge) DeWar of Spring Hill, FL; Steven DeWar of Brooksville, FL; her brother-in-law Winfred Bold of Janesville; her sister-in-law Eudoris (Lloyd) Peterson of Janesville; and by many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, her mother and father-in-law, a sister-in-law and four brother-in-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at ST. PAUL’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 210 S. Ringold Ave., with Rev. Daniel Decker officiating.. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the CHURCH. Entombment will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park & Chapel Mausoleum. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME, 21 S. Austin Rd., Janesville.
