Ruth E. Stratman, age 91, of Dodgeville, died on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Mineral Point. The former Ruth E. Dale was born in Little Grant township, Grant County, WI on August 5, 1921, to Walter and Anna (Heseltine) Dale. She graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1937. On August 27, 1942, she was united in marriage to Ortner J. Stratman and they were residents of Dodgeville all their married life. They owned and operated Iowa County Abstract and Title Co., Inc., from 1948 until their retirement in 1994. Ruth was a member of the Dodgeville United Methodist Church and of Chapter M of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998; her parents; two brothers, Harold W. Dale and Kenneth L. Dale; two sisters, Isabelle M. Wolenec and Helen J. Gard; a grandson, Derrick John White; a son-in-law, Richard White and her sister-in-law, Helen Seton. Ruth is survived by a daughter, Susan White of Wisconsin Dells; a son, Frederick O. (Nancy) Stratman of Middleton; five grandchildren, Rachel (Jacob) Griffin, Janice (Charles) Derhaag, Nicholai Stratman, Carl Stratman and Lee (Kari) Stratman; four great-grandchildren, Katherine and Josie Griffin, and Natalie and Luke Derhaag; two sisters, Geraldine (Donald) Kobbervig of Dodgeville and Phyllis Sticha of Madison and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church. Pastor Charlene Bennett will officiate with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
