Robert F. Chrostowski, age 87, of Janesville, died on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at home. He was born in Milwaukee on March 9, 1925, the son of Joseph and Anna (Koelsh) Chrostowski. He graduated from Bayview High School in 1943, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in the European Theatre and received the Purple Heart. Robert married Colleen Duane in Milwaukee on May 17, 1947, and moved to Janesville in 1955. They moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 1985, returning to Janesville in 2007. He owned Chrostowski and Sons, and was a very talented piano tuner all his life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milton, and a former member of the Elk's Club.

Robert is survived by his wife, Colleen Chrostowski; 5 children: Duane Chrostowski of Hollywood, FL, Lynn (Mel) Baker of Steamboat Springs, CO, Pamela (David) Wright of Janesville, Thomas (Zonia) Chrostowski of Edgerton, and Amy (Terry) Kletzien of Janesville; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Leona Warzon of Milwaukee and Joyce (Charles) Benn of Milwaukee; and a brother, Mel Chrostowski of Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bobbi Briggs; granddaughter, Emily Kletzien; grandson, Ryan Dobbs; and brother, Hank Chrostowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milton with Rev. Bill Nolan officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
