JANESVILLE---Robert E. Kjendle, age 86, of Janesville, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Janesville. He was born in Albion Township on May 10, 1926, the son of Emil and Marie (Solberg) Kjendle. He attended Edgerton schools until his enlistment in the U.S. Army during WWII where he served in the Philippines. Bob married Lois Maves on February 19, 1949, at St. John Lutheran Church, Edgerton. He lived most of his life in the Edgerton area and was owner/operator of Bob Kjendle Builders until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed deer hunting in Buffalo County, WI, fishing and trap shooting. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1621, and the American Trap Shooting Association. Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He took great pride in his family, work, Norwegian Heritage and being a WWII Veteran. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lois; 3 children: Rob (Mel Balas) Kjendle of Janesville, Craig (Jay) Kjendle of Milton and Julie (Bob) Jansen of Edgerton; 4 grandchildren: Jonathan (Jessica) Kjendle of Milton, Jennifer Kjendle of Milton, Craig Jansen of Edgerton and Christopher Kjendle of Janesville; a great-grandson, Craig "CJ" Kjendle; 2 sister-in-laws; Dona (Paul) Amundjeff of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Lucy Maves of Edgerton; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church, Edgerton with Rev. Carl Seeger officiating. Burial will be in Fasset Cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville and again on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville is assisting the family.
