Robert E. Hubbard, age 81, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at home. He was born in Detroit, MI on July 12, 1931, the son of Robert and Marian (Jensen) Hubbard, Sr. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring on April 1, 1970. Robert married Joanne Dabson, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church and she preceded him in death, he later married Beverly Robinson. Robert had been a Janesville resident for 37 years, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed bowling, bartending, playing pool, camping, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his 6 children: Christine (Randy) Wuthrich of Janesville, Robert "Corky" Hubbard of Janesville, Robin (Rex) Schilling of Charles City, IA, Darlene (Dale Van Kraanen) Piche of Janesville, Penny DeWick of Janesville and Mary (Andre') Crockett of Janesville; 3 step children: Tami Burns, Jeff (Debbie) Burns and Greg (Tammy) Burns all of Janesville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; adopted daughter, Jaclyn Michaels of Janesville; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne, and son-in-law, George DeWick.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
